Wow. That brings back memories. My first car looked just like that. Yellow four-door RX-2. 1972 or 1973, I don't remember which. The body was nicer than that one, but it did have some rust over the rear wheel openings. The interior was mint. The drivetrain was all original except the 12A was replaced by Mazda as part of a class-action settlement. Only bad thing was it was automatic. I think it had about 70k on the motor when I sold it.
I sold it for $425. But that was 20 years ago. Worst part is, I heard that the guy who bought it ran a redlight and got broadsided. He was okay, but the car wasn't.
I can't imagine what a fair price is today. You just don't see many of those cars anymore. Still, it's pretty rough. If the engine ran well and it drove okay, I could see paying maybe $1000.

its worth to an old school rotor head. it also depends in teh area. my friend sold one literelly in pieces, not running for that much. if he has all the interior bits an dthe rear glass and theres minimal rust, its damn worth it. then again u can pick one off for like 8000 and save yourself all the headaches of restoring it.

true its more fun to restore them than to buying restored. but after youve had a freakin 67 beetle convertible in pieces for years and have already spent prolly as much as restored ones are being sold for, you kinda wished you had just saved up and bought one and be driving it around instead of everythime you pass by the boxes full of parts wondering it will ever be together again.
that dash is kinda beat. seats and headliners are easier to reupholster than finding a dash.
if its something you always wanted and think this is a great platform to build from then go ahead and do it. dont setlle for something like what youve wanted. keep searching.
thats just my 0.02...
