i'm making this choice now, and i'm looking at both the haltech e6k or a wolf 3d. Both are very good systems.

Can you tune them yourself?

If not, buying the cheapest one is going to bite you in the ***.

Pay someone else to do it.

Going stand-alone is not about going with the cheapest one you can buy.

for rotary people e6k = e6x, for 4 cyl piston people e6x > e6k

Boy, and they see "dual map" and get all hot and bothered.

Little do they know the dual maps are more headaches than a "feature".

I've never had any problems related to the E6K's I've installed for customers.

I've just knowed off the last E11V1, so it will soon be 100% on the customer satisfaction list for all Haltechs.

Haltech released the E6X not for the rotary crowd - j9fd3s is right.

The E6X main upgrade over the E6K is the piston full sequential fuel injection control.

You never ended up getting it to work?

I got mine running smooth (20mpg) and then the motor died the next day

No, and we fricken found out why we were getting so much %(*&)*&% trouble.

DIRTY fuel tank.

I'll dump pics when hIGGI gets them UL'd.

For just about an hour worth of running, it was enough to KILL a Walbro in-tank fuel pump filter.

We checked upstream in the main fuel filter (FC3S), and the gas came out dirty after that.

I cut the fuel filter open for inspection and ALL the pleats were coated with crap.

We got maybe another 30 minutes of tuning after taking care of that fiasco, and it's running a lot better now. Zero load ranges are tuned up to 3k, and it cranks and starts nice now. The coolant and primer maps needs a slight adjustment, but over all it's progress.

Well I got a Power FC, harness, map sensor, air temp sensor.....with commander for a kouki FC3S if anyone is interested.

I tried using it in my FD and it won't work right so now have to buy another Power FC. I will let it go at the low price of 900 dollars plus shipping.

It is basically Plug and play except drilling a tapping a whole for the Apexi Air temp sensor.
