Unhappy

Hi All

I need some helpful advise on which one of the 13B engines would be a good candidate for rebuild.

The engine will be getting ported that I am definite on....so here are my choices

1) a mazda reman engine from Malloy Mazda $2200..advantages of this engine to me is that there built with supposedly new rotor housings and internals. A 1 yr warranty..sweet...but if it is pulled apart and ported it voids the warranty

2) a japanese used s6 13B re with all the other goodies etc.etc and the price on it is $1395 compression checked already and it has 120-110

now lastly this is where I get mixed up....A 13B rew cosmo engine with the goods for $ 2100 ...compression test 110-110.

now what would be the difference in a re and the rew as far as performance and adding some fine port job...

all info on this is much appreciated...I am planning on purchasing an engine next week..I would hate to keep 1 of the porting kings on this forum waiting for the engine

yes the cosmo is the 13b-re, the REW is the fd motor. the RE has bigger ports than the REW so you don't need to do any porting if thats what you want to do. there are several people doing an RE swap and a few doing a 20b swap check the eng. swap section.

I will be giving the engine a big street port. Im looking into the installation...I've heard with certain engines I have to use this and that part..I just dont want that I go to install it and have to purchase something else. I heard that 1 of the computers have different mounting points...I need to have it done within a week since I live in Mass and the car is still in florida at my cousins place...have to take my vacation...I will be if I dont come home with the car..
