OH, I know swapping in a 20b is expensive but how about trying to do it cheap but right. I have a lot of mods on my car including a Haltech.

Do you think, without rebuilding the engine the first year I can do this quickly and cheap? And reliable? ALl I would need is the k2rd motor mount, I all ready have a IC kit. Maybe some extra hardware like trailing ignitors.

What do you think? Is it possible? Under $4500 with engine?

I think that you could do it. What would you do abut the turbo?

MOst used engines come with the turbo on them so I could run the turbo non sequential. IF not I can run it non turbo for a while, that would be very cool and reliable too.

So what do you think, possible?

$4500 is possible if you just want it to run well, but a big single like a T-76 would help in the power department. The stock turbos running in parallel, however, should do alot. You could try asking Hitman about what you'll need to get it to work with the E6K.

well, what the hitman has done is run his 3rotor with a e6k. The problem is running trailing split ignition. For now he is running them together with the leading. It should be ok, everyone says that you make more power runing together.

But since i'm in a budget that will have to do. Hmm I just have to rewire the fuel injectors wires and ignition to run 3 injectors and run 6 cylinder mode.

This project is getting more and more tempting by the moment. I was about to buy a new to4e turbo and manifold but for a littl emore money I can get a 3rotor.

Here is list:

motor mounts adapters, a few new oil lines, more trailing or leading coils & ignitors, a new down pipe. Some piping for the IC ( have a brand new greddy unit)

A t76 would be nice but might be to much for now, maybe after a fresh rebuild.

You think i can do it in 2 weeks?

I don't know of any systems that run a trailing split for s 3 rotor, except for Electromotive, and maybe Motec. Microtech and Wolf may do it now, but if you have the E6K use it. Besides making oil cooler lines and mounts there isn't ALOT of custom work involved. Some people will say that there is, but they had somebody else do the work. 2 weeks is pushing it, but it's possible if you're motivated.

I have a lift and power tools. I can have the stock engine out in a few hours. Then just drop in the 3 rotor.

I'm going to hold on, on this project. I need to get an extra fc chassis so I can still have a car to drive around and have a spare rx7 in case the 3 rotor beast never breaks or never wakes up.

I'm think of getting a vert for 3 rotor conversion. I have to find one cheap, cheap.

Cheap huh... good luck. You're partially right. You're also going to need a larger fuel pump, radiator (the stock one is made for cooling a 2 rotor remember), electric fan, another set of coils for the third rotor, you can easily run the turbos in parallel and still run 10-12 psi. You will have to remove the front sway bar because it will not fit at all and either run without or custom fab one yourself. The hood will not close either, so plan on removing the stock hood scoop on a TII and/or doing a custom one. Also, if you're not using a TII, you will need to replace the transmission with one to start or you will break it, and you need to use the TII bellhousing. You will need to use the 20B counterweight with a TII flywheel as well.

I'm probably forgetting a few things right now but it's not as easy as you think and if you can get it done in a weekend, then you should be in business for yourself
