I've used both powerfc and haltech, and the haltech is better.

Ok..I'll be the first here....
POWER FC |
If your car runs like a hairy dog, its a Wolf....

it can if you want it too, but who wants stock sensors? especally the maf?

The V Pro does not come with any maps on it at all sort of like how you would get a MOTEC. It is basically a blank sheet. You can be able to get maps from Authorized Pro Dealers who have the power writer for it but other than that it is not plug and play.
HKS USA will be releasing the V Pro in a few months but it is not recommended for street cars unless you are local to a tuning shop that can program it from scratch. It is not user friendly like the PFC. HKS will also have the FCON S which is a piggy back but is a lot better than the older FCONs |

It is not user friendly like the PFC. HKS will also have the FCON S which is a piggy back but is a lot better than the older FCONs. It does come with base maps and is plug an play but again for tuning you will need to find a Pro Dealer. Right now there are 3 or 4 pro dealers in the US. Dynamic Auto, Altered Atmosphere are two of them. Until the V Pro comes out I opted for the PFC. |

i love it! i got about 50 hp just form switching from the power FC to the fcon! the guy that tunes mine is he FCON wizard for all of northern japan so now that it is set it should be good to go! also i hooked up the pro starter to it kinda like a msd's launch control but the ECU does it for you. glad to hear they have em coming to the states, i think mine was about 1800 with the harness tuning it came out to 800.
|
Ya the FCON V Pro will be available in the states but it isn't gonna be something that most people can use. Since it has no "commander" like the PFC people cannont trade programs and maps. Unless someone has one of the few "Pro" dealers near them it is basically a usless box. "Pro" dealers will be able to sell pre programmed units but untill they are able to create maps from scratch it will be awhile.
|
So it can't be tuned with a laptop?
|
sucks to be you guys in the states! this puter is the **** of all ****'s over here they compare it to a motec thats how good it is! well good thing i will have mine tweaked before coming back to low tech land! lol!
|
yup you lucky bastard.....i'm actually one of the lucky ones who have access to getting it tuned but for lots of people it's gonna suck. I should be getting it in the next couple of monthes.
Also no it cannot be tuned by laptop unless you have the HKS Power Writter program. |
yep and HKS is keeping this program under wraps i highly doubt it will be availiable to the public

I'm running an Electromotive TEC I in my 20B, but it's not finished yet so I'll get back when it's been tuned and running. I really liked to features of having the stand-alone coils and crank wheel for an accurate, high-voltage spark and timing. The software is pretty easy to work with as well.

Sorry Mr. Ace, you're thinking of 3 rotor which is the guy with the white 10th aniv. 20B. He's running the stock ECU which is why he can run the turbos sequentially. Ray from SR Motorsports gave me the initial map and I'm having a local Electromotive dealer do the final tuning.

power fc reprogrammed by XS. Runs really good but I'm wondering whether I would get more power by going haltech. Can i run less conservative lamda's with a heltech?
