I got my car running today, the wastegate is stuck open about 1/8 inch. The is no adjustment that I can see on this model. Anyone have any suggestions, I'm thinking of taking it off the car, and take it apart to see what is wrong. Anyone else come across this problem???

The only adjustment I can think of is the one on the top of the wastegate. You'll need a wrench and an allen head. Try loosening it up.

Van, the wastgate I have has an allen screw in the center of it, but no locknut, I took that screw completly out, it did nothing, and I can fell that there is no tentiion on it at all when I turn it. There were no instructions in the box, and the USA HKS site has no online manual available

Just take the wastegate apart then.

Trust me, I understand. I have to fix an oil pan leak...which means I'm pulling the engine https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

you don't have to pull the engine to fix an oil pan leak ?

Couldn't the wastegate be stuc cause it's new? You think it might fix itself when you start using it?

My GSR's was sticky when I first installed it... Got a few 14-15psi spikes till that bitch loosened up. Just a thought!

Damn, that's the first time I've ever heard of a HKS wastgate doing that... the only problem I've ever seen is the 10mm nut that holds the valve to the diaphram can come loose and cause it to over boost. Try taking a flat head screw driver in threw the wastgate exit port and try prying it more open and then releasing it and see if it will pop down where it's supposed to be if you want to try for a quick fix.. Your best bet would be to dissasemble the thing and clean it up.

also the wastgate pic is the nonadjustable type, the adjustable type has a long threaded hex stud with a 12mm lock nut on it that will allow you to adjust boost by .2kgcm what it boost depends on the spring, but most of the adjustable ones come with a .8-1.0 kgcm spring, but there are 1.0-1.2 all the way up the line to like 2.0kgcm springs that you can buy.
