Alright, I have this t-45S with the stupid 4 bolt flange on the back...I miss my old turbo with the v-band on the back and figured I'd search on the internet to see how much a 3 1/4" v-band clamp with exhaust end/pipe end would cost...and just my luck they only have 3" and 3 1/2"!!!

So my question is WHERE DO I ORDER A 3 1/4" V-BAND CLAMP WITH ENDS????

j9fd3s 07-26-2003 06:47 PM

www.burnsstainless.com ?

jspecracer7 07-26-2003 08:03 PM

No 3 1/4"...I've got a 80mm downpipe, which is 3.15"...closer to the 3.25" I need.

That sucks...

vspecpgt 07-27-2003 04:20 PM

can you just order a new clamp and flange from cheap turbos or sumthing? i was thinking about doing that

I wasnt sure which ones you needed when I spoke with him.

Send him a pm, he might have what you need.

I e-mailed cheap turbos...no response as of yet. I need 3 1/4" or 80mm...they have 3" which I guess I'll have to settle for https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

V-band is a type of flange/clamp that allows you to seal two pieces of metal together without a gasket. It makes taking off a downpipe a 5 minute job with a 2 minute smoke break. It takes me awhile to get my downpipe off now(6 bolts total before I broke off 2 of them:( ) With a v-band, you loosen the v-band clamp, pull the 2 bolts that hold it to the midpipe and your downpipe is off. My turbo has a v-band connecting the exhaust housing to the center cartridge....which means it takes me 5 to 10 minutes to take off my TURBO...it's a snap! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

UniqueTII 07-30-2003 12:41 PM

Thanks!

jspecracer7 08-02-2003 07:24 AM

well I got a hold of one our sponsors, www.cheapturbo.com and they pointed me to this link: click here

Now we have a reference for V-band flanges/clamps!

also, their prices are really cheap for new turbos. I will be ordering my turbo from them in the future. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif
