Hi,

Im redoing my car completely starting with the engine and now the turbo system

1 of my friend works at a shop and can get me a Kit or I should say a break on this system that includes a t70 turbo charger with a .96 turbine housing a custom racing manifold and a an external turbonetics evolution wastegate.

I have read and researched many turbo-turbo kits but haven't come across this particular turbo for our engines... anyone care to shed some light on this

thanks

Jeremy

the turbonetics t-70 is pretty big. you would be better off with a 60-1. and go with the ceramic bb option. that will help you spool up about 15% faster than traditional shaft bearing. when I ordered my turbo from them they wern't making manifolds for rx-7s.. If they do now I don't know. the 60-1 will be more streetable.

T-70 is a high boost turbo BTW.

I wonder how it compares to other big turbo's..especially the gt kits 35,40,42 or even the t-78...t-88 turbo's...the price he quoted me was 1300 for the turbo wastegate and manifold..I've checked the price on the t-70 and its almost 900 by itself...it has the 360 degree thrust bearing...decisions.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png

what you guy think?

from what you describe the turbo is going to have lots of lag..I'd ask him for the 60-1 in bb. and that turbo is for high boost..and lots of rpms it just depends on what your looking for.

the t70 is between a t78 and a t88. spool is like a t78 if you get the bb option. the bb turbo is like $1800 by itself.

I kicked down the hot side of my T66 from 0.96 to 0.81. It's much more fun on the street and not so explosive. Still has great top-end.

I've driven a few cars with T70's, one ball bearing and the other not. Both turbos spooled fast in my opinion. Both cars also had different manifolds.

I think the T70 spools just as fast as my T78 if not faster. I also once had a T72 installed on my car and took it off. I was getting full boost by 6000+ rpms.

What about a turbonetics t-62-1 with the BB option and a Fuso FMIC?

Horsepower capabilities and full boost reached at approx. what RPM?
