Somebody learn me on the new design/more efficient turbos.

What besides the new bearing stuff is the shizznit? I have seen more efficiency for smaller turbo makes the same HP as the big blowers? GT35/37R ?

I see flow rate per size but does the new stuff offer less cause of size ?

Just a thought ...the GT40 at discount seems like they are hard to find ...so said the online shop after I order from two.

They worked on the aerodynamic efficiency of the blades. If you compare some of the "similar" size turbos between old 'T' series from Turbonetics to new "GT" series from Garrett they now can move more air at lower boost levels. They can also remain efficient at more varied levels of air flow.

The GT40R is not officially released by Garrett last time I checked. That means only the places they label as "performance distributors" or "engineering houses" are offering them, as opposed to the "master distributors" who deal mass quantities to trucking, etc., where you can now order GT35R or GT42R turbos.

Garrett builds them as demand comes in, but they have to be in decent quantities before they do a production run of a certain size.

Check Garrett's website if you want more info.

yeah garrett's weird, between the sales dept, website, and the product actually being sold nobody seems to know wtf they actually make. case in point was the bb gt40, they had one at sema, yet it doesnt exist

another question:

I want to keep my cold air box but the new Turbos /intake have the big ass radius.

What do most guys with the Blowzilla style do for cold air? I had a standerd TO4

so the intake went was easy to tie into the cold air box.
