A few questions on the T78,
Boost characteristics? Full boost by 4,000 rpm? Is 450 rwhp@15 psi the norm? What about the install? Did it bolt right up? Any custom fab. when using the Greddy 3-row fmic? One last thing, I heard there are different types of T78's, is this true? If so what are they, and do they have bb ones? Big thanks https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif |
damn wheres Vosko? He has one on his FD and it looks like a good fit.I never heard of two different T78's tho.

Custom work is only to get your DP to fit past your EGR valve...you will block it off and then either dent your DP or shave your LIM to make it fit. I have never heard of two different T78's, not from Greddy at least so if you want a Greddy kit, BB is not an option.

my LIM had to be shaved slightly. which is no big deal. with proper porting and tuning you should be able to make 450rwhp @ 15psi. i am trying to . we will see SOON. maybe i'll even dyno the car today https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
there are four different T78's http://www.trust-power.com/02greddy/turbine.html i have the T78 - 33D -17.0 CM^2 i get full boost by 4k rpm |
the 33D is the wheel and the 17.0CM is the exhaust housing

You sure you don't have the 24cm housing?? Cause my 17cm housing looks smaller than yours.

On a stock motor 400hp is reasonable. If you have Vosko's engine well that's another story! You can acquire a 95 and up LIM which doesn't have the EGR and clears the downpipe. GReddy really only sells one T78 in the US although there are different exhaust housing sizes available. You start making serious boost by 4K.
No custom fabrication is needed with either the two row or the three row as long as they're ordered with the single turbo piping kit (comes with it) but you can also buy both FMIC kits with piping for the stock twins too. Michel |

Yes a lot of people don't relize this, I don't understand why people buy such big ass turbos and don't use them in their most efficient psi ranges, seems like a waste of money to me. |
