hey guys, i was just wondering, a long time ago (JAN 2004) i went out to a junk yard and pulled a t3 off a turbo coupe and sent it to a guy down in miami to have rebuilt and upgraded to a t3/4. well, i just now got the turbo back and he gave me a t70 for being patient with him. so, what i was wondering was is this a good turbo for my 2nd gen engine/setup?(better than t3/4 in AE86?)Attachment 21622

more then likely thats the piece of scrap **** they sell on ebay for like a $300, thats from a european diesel truck, and doesnt have a regular t4, t3, or whatever bolt pattern to it.
aka he gave it away because its useless. First of all, "ssautochrome" sells it on ebay...they're crap. But if you wanna believe them then you can run it at 35psi and make 650hp. id like to see that happen tho. kevin. |
meh decided to actually look into it.
if its a *real* masterpower and not an ssautochrome one then apparently its decent except it's a .68 housing, which for a rotary, you should ramp that up to around a .96 if not larger. if its an ssautochrome one from ebay then the inside of the turbo is all generic and people apparently have had some abd failures with them. no one seems to be running over like 14 psi so no real big power numbers, at least nothing i can find. kevin. |
Hey guys,
Yep there's a difference between the SS autochrome one a nd the actual, REAL Master Power stuff. We're using one of the MP T70's here and we like it quite a bit. However, the MP turbo shown in the picture there doesn't look like one based on what I can tell. The compressor wheel looks to be too small. B |
.81 ar would work well with that compressor. Any smaller no top end!
|
yeah, you guys are too fu#4ing critical, was there anywhere in this post that i said i got this off ebay, does that housing say ssautochrome? no it doesnt. i got alex's name from a rep at garrett who said he the guy to talk to about an rebuild/upgrade and would be able to help me out. so i gave him a call and he works for master power turbos. but hey, hate all you want.

OMG!!! that duck! i have that duck too!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif I named him Professor Cheeto.
my friend has the same turbo on his FD. Just because its not an HKS dose not mean its a very good turbo. Have fun! my friends at .5 Bar will kill most cars on the road. |

Heres a manifold i made for a guy using one of those ebay T70s the wastegate is an hks 50mm . Hes got it running in his fd with a microtech, std ports and a small front mount cooler. Not sure on the figures but he seems happy enough. Let you know how it goes if it ever makes it to a dyno.
Tell me if I'm wrong but that exhaust manifold looks to be made of aluminum. If it is what type of aluminum is it and how thick are the tubes? Looks like a nice piece I just have not seen anyone make one out of aluminum. How well does it hold up to the heat? |
****** christ teknics its not like you didnt know what i ment.

Nah its 304 stainless steel sch 10 ( 2.8mm) bends i didnt polish them as that would be extra and you cant see it when its in the car. The tube = 51mm id. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

If that is a REAL Master Power T-70 then it is a good turbo depending on the application. I just dynoed mine with 481rwhp at about 20-21psi with the boost leaking and old plugs.
ERic. |
though looking at that one now, it looks to be either the MP t-66 or t61.
