I want to use my new toy but I need a wastegate and turbo. Are T4's and T04's the same flange pattern?

Here the manifold I have on the way.

I can sell you my SRmotorsports stageII turbo for $1400

Racer X 08-16-2003 11:57 PM

I'm broke right now but I know a guy who has a T04 at his place he would sell me cheap.I'm wondering if T4 and T04 has the same turbo flange tho.Believe me if I could spare the coin that kit is worth it.Damn I love your turbo. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bling.gif

I think some people just type T4 and some T04. My mitsu turbo has a T04 footprint.

Thats what I thought too, wasn't too sure though.

djgiantrobot 08-17-2003 02:10 PM

you can also fit the GT turbos to that manifold, but you'll have to grind out the holes a couple mm

Cool. Thanks for the info everyone. It's nice to get this stuff out of the way so I know what to order when the time comes. Thanks

I dont think so. I dont know about the T4-to T04, but exhaust housings are different. The E and the R are the same, and I even think the S will bolt up, but I dont think the B will. I mean correct me if im wrong, but a lot of companies advertise like this too, but when I call to order it, they make sure its for an R or S or E, none other then those.

Am I slow? Im a little tired today, so if im totally off subject just go right around me hehe

Also did you guys see the flange difference between the one installed and the one in the pic by itself? hummm

Racer X 08-17-2003 11:04 PM

I'll have to ask when I goto order the turbo this winter.I would like B but if it does not work then I'll just order a E.It's all good to me and my FB.

Racer X 08-17-2003 11:14 PM

Looking at this it seems the B will bolt up.Not 100% sure tho.

Thats a good question. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png Do you guys know which HKS wastegate goes on that manifold?

Racer X 08-18-2003 01:18 AM

I think the standard wastegate off the HKS site is the one but not 100% sure.Anyone?

setzep 08-18-2003 04:21 PM

Hmm.... that ebay turbo seller says it has a "60" compressor but he shows a compressor map for a H-3 compressor. Probably means a .60 a/r compressor housing. I woulden't put a H-3 compressor on my 13b. That turbine housing looks nice though https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

HKS racing wastegate (50mm w/ rectangle flange) is what fits it......after you modify the flange so the holes will line up with the wastegates.

oh, and the turbo will have to be slotted a little too.

aaaand you might have to make a spacer for it in order for the turbine housing to clear the LIM.

have fun https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

So its the racing and not the standard wastegate? This sounds like a better winter project. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png

Dragon 08-19-2003 12:00 AM

A T4 flange is the size of the flange for a TO4 series turbo and it will fit all of them be it a To4b, e, s, r or even the T series turbo's from Turbonetics like the T66, T70, T76 etc... It will also fit the mitsubishi TD07 series turbos as well. your only problem with a larger turbo is that when you get in to the larger compressors IE. .84 a/r they might not clear the intake manifold etc, but that manifold should work fine with any thing up to a a/r .70 no problem..

JT-Imports 08-19-2003 06:48 AM

Dragon--Thanks I will remember that.

Get the turbo?

rbrtech 08-21-2003 07:11 AM

what turbo? which one let us in

72opelguy 09-08-2003 11:58 PM

welli have a turbo that on the id plate days t04b74

it has a/r of .40 on the compressor side and a/r .70 on the turbine side

ans i know that the flange is not the same as any other to4 or t4

i know that it is a t04 because it is on the compressor housing as well as the plate on the bearing center

the flange looks like it is just a wider t3 flange

if it matters the turbine housing is the divided style

i got it for free because it came with a diesel bulldozer but it did not fit right so it wasnt used

i think turbonetics has stuff for these but i cant remember
