A few pictures of a forum members " turbo kit " about to be finished.
Hardlined water/oil lines as hes going to autoX this car, and doesn't want a SS lined rubber hose to fail in such close vicinity to the turbine housing. https://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...ittingside.jpg https://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...omad/Front.jpg https://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y2...omad/below.jpg We just have to finish it off with some TFE hose, make some mounting tabs for the lines, brace the turbo, and coat his downpipe and turbine housing. |
That is neat. What kind of tube is that. What was the cost to build?
|
Just -4 and -6 SS tubing, I believe it was .039" wall. Its time consuming thats where the cost really comes from, that and having the right tools.
|
what type of flaring do you use on that kind of tubing, double flare?
kevin. |
I'll be damned I had no idea you worked at turblown.. That is some sweet hard line work, I thought of doing that but we don't have anyone in town that does it. The waste gate in that pic looks like the one I sent to you guys to size up the manifold you guys are making for me.

I would have posted a bunch of pictures of your manifold. I guess tommorrow I will do that, I've also got to email you some more new ones... |
Why is he so paranoid? Just about every single turbo guy runs your typical braided SS rubber line with no problems...

interesting, very interesting. how're you hooking in the feed line? if it was me i would weld steel AN fittings to the end to make it much easier instead of flares. that thats just me https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png. |
any chances of them bending and kinking?
|
Ha! I know where you got the idea! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png I still remember when you, Nick and a couple buds came over to check out mine a couple years back.
To answer teknics question. It's a 37deg flare or should be. https://www.datsunracing.com/zalbums...B/fuelrail.jpg |
