Dragon warned me not to rip my wastegate diaphram.I looked it over real good as I was assembling my wastegate ans yes I have a tiny tear in it!! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

So now its up to Loi to get me another one. Yet another delay. I miss driving my 7 bad!!

While I am on the subject. I will post a pic tomarrow of my new "Ace Hardware" wastegate plumbing. I am runnning brass lines from the wastegate to my Profec "B" no more heat damage to the rubber or silicone hoses. I am also making a heat shield for my brake line. I noticed at my last driving school that it was getting really hot from the heat radiating from the turbo.

Wrapped about 14" of the down pipe to try to keep the engine bay a little cooler.

Hopefully it will be on the road next weekend.

But if it ended, what would you do then....

Jims5543 07-26-2003 06:10 PM

It never does end and when it does end if it ever does I will be happy just driving it.

Then you sell the car like most of the other guys, ie: ErnieT....

djgiantrobot 07-27-2003 10:36 AM

and then you buy another one and build a crazy race car out of it in less than 6 months:ie ErnieT

I will never sell this car. I have way too much invested to sell it. Plus it is too much fun to drive.

That's what they all say, until they need the money, or see another project. LOL

Nope even if I take on another project this car stays. 400+ HP 2600 lbs full racing suspension. Nah its a keeper.

I am getting a CooperS and plan on modding it.

I ordered my new diaphram today. $85 + shipping and it takes over a week to get one.

I ordered 2 one to store just in case. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Installed a bigger spring. Plus it was touching the downpipe so I wanted to grind the cover down a little so it doesn't touch anymore. I think its touching was cooking it. The diaphram did not look too good.

One of the downfalls of squezing that engine into my car. But so worth it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Yeah I said the same thing "i'll never sell the car". But when money is short and there are priorities that need attention a decision has to be made. Hopefully you will never be in that position. The day I get another FD will not come soon enough. Its kinda like selling your dick sorta speak. Jim, why don't you buy my FD and skip the cooper for now?

Jims5543 07-30-2003 08:49 PM

Wife is Pregnant with second child due Sept. 10th. (same week as the National Autocross runoffs in topeka dammit!! should have planned this better) My RX-7 is my toy it sits in the garage and waits patiently for me to take it out and beat it. My daily driver is my Dodge Dakota Quad cab. My wifes daily driver is a pretty trick Mustang GT Vert. After the baby wife is taking the Truck (big and safe) and I am getting the CooperS. The Mustang is for sale. There is no room in the Mustang for a baby seat so it will not work for my wife if I need to take the truck. (like when I trailer my RX-7 to Autocrosses) The CopperS has a nice interior. I had a 6'2" salesman in the back seat behind me when I test drove one we all had plenty of room. So I will daily drive the Cooper and on those occasions when I need the truck I know my wife will not have a problem fitting a car seat.

Honestly I love the FD's but I like my TII better. When you see an FD you KNOW you are in trouble. An FC you think you have a chance. Unless you happen to encounter mine. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I know a lot of really cool FD owners but I also know a lot that think their poop does not stink because they have the more expensive car. Kinda like a Corvette owner they all seem to be stuck up. I am a down and dirty kind of guy. So I like the image my FC gives. I hope I dont piss anyone off I dont mean to.
