Hey guys, I just spent quite a bit of time reading up on various setups in the forum, and gave me quite an insight. I'm relatively new to rotaries and single turbo setups, but I'm learning.

I have an old datsun that I'm putting a stock 13b-re motor into. The RE block is stock, seals look good, etc. I got the mounts finally figured out and done, and now I need to slap a turbo on it. I can't use stock twins because they won't clear the frame rail, so I'm forced to switch.

I've been pricing out and looking at various options, and my goal is simple: about 350 crank hp, don't need anything more than that. I have no smog restrictions, so the block is getting a lot of block off plates, and I don't have to worry about catalytic converters and smog pumps. The car is a weekend racer that should also be streetable

I'm currently looking at garrett t04e with .6 a/r cold side, either 60 or 60-1 trim, p-trim exhaust with .84 or .96 a/r. The inlet is 4", and exhaust is on center 3".

Fuel is fed from a summit fuel cell through an external walbro 255lph pump going through an 8an line setup. I'm having stock primaries bored to 720 or 850, and secondaries either bored to 850 or replaced with 1300 or 1600 cc units. I'm looking at getting an aeromotive fpr unit. The system is to be managed by a microtech ems

So, my questions are:

-what turbo setup should I look for? I'm looking for more midrange power than top end, and for a while I doubt I'd be pushing more than 14psi

-I want to have more mid-range power (roadcourses) rather than top end. Would .84 a/r be sufficient, or should I go for .96? or would I be choking the setup at 7k rpm with .84?

-is there anything I should do additionally for fuel?

-should a tial 38mm wg be enough for such a mild setup? I'm reading about boost creep, and it's creeping me out

-are there any significant downsides to on-center turbine housing vs. tang offset?

-which aeromotive fpr would you guys recommend:

One last thing - I'm on a limited budget, so I can't afford a $600 hks 50mm wastegate and such.

Thanks!

as for turbo i would look into a hybrid s5 turbo. From what i can think of it will give great repsonse and still be able to put down some power. you can always go for one of the brand new garrett gt35r but that is gonna be alot more pricey. or if you wanted to stick with the t04e i would recomend going divided to get better spool.

from what i have heard about the whole on-center vs tangenial is that oncenter doesnt flow as well as tangenial does. the way i see it is that the exhaust gas in the on center has to enter then turn one more time then the tangenial does. plus the tangenial ones you can get in divided if you wanted to make a divided equal lenght manifold which would help with spool if you went witha bigger turbo than a stocker hybrid.

as for fpr i would just go with the top one as long as you split your fuel off into a -6 parrallel setup.
