I am working on going to a singlr turbo setup. At this point I only have the turbo, Turbonetics "super 60". To4 81 A/R, P trim.

I want the car steerable with 390 to 450 rwhp.

Now I need some other parts:

What Wastegate should I get and from where? Deltagate, HKS, TIAL? Sizes? Spring weight?

FPR? SX? Are there different models? If so which do I need?

BOV? These really vary in price, for my goals, which one will work?

I also only have a boost guage, I was thinking of getting an Exhaust Temp and Water Temp, which ones and where?

Injectors? What is the best route here? New or send mine out?

Too many options for me, I need some guidance.

Thanks, Dave

You need a computer to manage the fuel system first of all. Wether it be a Power FC or Haltech, you need that on your list as #1. HKS or TIAL make good wastegates. Can't think of exact sizes of the top of my head but I have a HKS racing wastegate with 14lb spring. I'd worry about a fuel pressure gauge before adding the FPR. My car does fine with the stock FPR. BOV, whatever you think sounds best. I like the apexi, but its almost too small for my t-62, but I could always add another. Injectors, at least 550/1600 or 850/1200 with a big fuel pump or a couple stock pumps.

Thanks.

I will be going with the E6K.

I am leaning toward the Tial 40mm, 9lb.

Tail BOV.

SX FPR - but -10 or -6, not sure here, bigger better?

Maybe 850/1100 injectors. Can the stock primaies be worked into 1100?

Either the Tial or HKS wastegates will work well. The Apexi bov is a piece of junk in my opinion. I have seen too many leak. Its not really big enough for single turbo anyway. Go with a Tial or Greddy type r. If you are going to run -10 an lines allt he way from the fuel tank, then get the regulator with bigger fittings. Otherwise -6 an is fine. For injectors I would keep the stock 550s to keep a decent idle and get new 1600s for the secondaries and a k2rd fuel rail. You could send the 550s out for cleaning and balancing, but make sure you install them soon afterwards to reduce the chance of sticking. Whos doing the install and tuning?

DaveC 08-14-2003 03:31 PM

Install will be done by a Dominican friend of mine in the states for a couple of months and I will assist. I have been wanting to do this for some time now but could NOT (still can't)afford to have it done. Plus I would rather understand how things are setup. I am new to the game but I think I can learn. My only problem with my friend is he doesn't speak English too well so it makes it very intresting. I am also on the road a lot lately with business so things are progressing slowly.

He keeps insisting that we fabricate our own manifold because of price, I am worried about cracking on a custom. Are there any cheap manifolds out their that perform?

Injectors, if I use 550 primary and 1600 secondaries will there be a violent hit as the secondaries hit? Also, th ksrd rail, do I need a added rail or is that optional? What is it's purpose?

I already have the RP Comp intank fuel pump, says it's good for 500+hp, that should work, right?

When I order the TIAL WG, will they ask me about spring pressure? How does that work? Will the 38MM perform for my application or should I go with the 40mm for another $100? Flanges, inlet correct?

This is going to cost a bunch https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

You could go with an OBX manifold. They are cheap and nice.

that a/r .81 exhaust side is too small...unless you want to make boost on idle and run out of steam at 4000 rpms https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

Is the "super 60" just a 60-1?

jspecracer7 08-14-2003 07:24 PM

I thought a super 60 was a t-04E https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

Maybe if he's running a bridge port. Van quit exaggerating. Where on any kind of port an .81 will choke things up on the top end, on a stock port it will spool quick and maybe only be felt on the top end when reving over 8000rpm's. I'm thinking that a super 60 might get you 370rwhp and that's running like 17-20psi of boost.
