Mike(j9) and I have been talking about this all day....
How does the stock ecu adjust the timing when you make fuel corrections with the s-afc? Since the igintion is based on rpms and load, and the s-afc manipulates the MAF(load), which would make the ecu think the maf is +- close or open. Then the ecu would change the timing, thinking its under +- load. So whats the deal? Either n/a or t2 ecu.... Another Question, If you turboed and n/a motor, could you use the stock n/a ecu with a piggy back? Just change the pressure(map) sensor? Or would u need the t2 ecu? and is the n/a ecu's map just a piece of the t2s map? ( -15 to 0 pressure)?... The reason are one, we love talking about this all day,we been yappin about igintion split too https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png, and I might be turboing and n/a in the future, on a budget until he has enough funds to do it right(standalone ems and rebuilt t2 motor).. so in the meantime we would be boosting an n/a motor, and using a piggy back, most likley the popular s-afc. |
I can't answer your question. However Brian at Rotorsports had a automatic FD setup so that the stock ecu was still there to control things and a haltech E6K was able to control fuel, timing, and some other features. I believe it all comes down to which wires you cut to disable certain controls the stock ecu has, then enabling controls by rewiring with another ecu. Food for thought.....

our thinking was that if you have big -corrections on something like an safc, what the ecu sees is less load os the timing is more advanced than it would normally be

Aaron cake and some other guys on the other forum mentioned that they think the AFM only gives signals for fuel adjustment and the TPS actually gives the signals for the ignition timing. And aaron is using a n/a ecu to control his boosted n/a motor.

the tps only reads up to about 30% throttle, if you look at an s4 car the tps plumger is all the way out after that

Good point, forgot that s4's don't have the full range tps. Did u mention that over there?
|
no, i did not

Rotor sports how do i get ahold of these people? I want to ask them about the piggy back set up they did im doing the same thing and would like to know what they did before i mess mine up or something..........Thanks
