Hey this is my first rotary project which I've been looking forward to for a while. Anyways I just bought the engine and trani from Japan with 24k on it, it even came with an aftermarket Knight Sport upgraded turbo, but I bought I TO4b brand new to throw on. My question is am I gonna just blow my engine or does anyone think putting it together would be practical? I also have a Haltech E6k, Tial 38mm Wastegate, still need a BOV, 1600cc secondary injectors, Walbro 255 Fuel pump.
From a lot of forums reports on rotaries it sounds like I'm asking for problems if I don't do a rebuild or at least a small street port. I really am I on tight budget and wanted to just get it running. So any opinions would be greatfully appreciated. Oh and I'll through some Turbo specs if anyone is wondering and a map. Compressor Wheel: Super-S Trim Inducer Diameter- 1.904 Major Diameter- 3.000 Compressor Housing: Standard T04B Compressor A/R Ratio- .60 Compressor Inlet Diameter- 2.75 Turbine Wheel: P-Trim Exducer Diameter- 2.544 Major Diameter- 2.922 Turbine A/R Ratio- 1.15 Turbine Inlet Diameter-3.000 |
If the engine has good compression, then there is no need for a rebuild. Also porting does nothing to help engine strength. Once you get all that stuff put together the main thing to keeping the engine alive is proper fuel delivery and timing.

Well does anyone know if I'll need a new fuel rail with the Bosh 1600cc injectors?

1.15 A/R is pretty good size is it not? Especially on a stock port motor.
|
Which rail are you using? More than likely you will need to modify the rail.

1.15 is too big for a street car non ported. 1 or less is better for street. using something that big you better have divided manifold/turbine and dont mind having a peak power in the upper rpms.
