I'm getting ready to convert my FD to single. My goal is a powerful,

comfortable(A/C and P/S) STREET car with the occasional tank full of c16

at the track(or maybe the street). I've searched alot and looked at alot

of other setups and advise so here is my proposed setup:



-Fresh Rebuild with 2mm seals and medium port

-Where to get silicone seals and viton o rings?

-XS T04S

-Cast manifold or SFP Custom tubular?

-850 primaries and 1600 secondaries->custom rails

-SX FRP

-Twin Supra TT fuel pumps

-TEC III or PFC w/Datalog???????????

-Jacobs ignition if I go with PFC



How does this look? I already have the turbo itself. I'm just looking for

opinions on the overall setup. I'm still deciding between the TEC3 and PFC

w/datalog. I'm just wondering if the TEC3 is overkill for my setup. I'm

shooting for around 400 SAFE rwhp on pump gas, which other forum

members have already acheived, so I know that this is doable. Thing is not

too many have gone further than that. Most are using the Power FC.



I'd like to put down SAFE 500 rwhp on c16 and 20+psi. (Cruser did close to

this but he was tuned pretty lean.)That is where I'm questioning the EMS.

I know the TEC3 can handle this no problem, but what about the PFC? I

know I'll need a datalogit and 3 bar map sensor if I go this route.



I'm looking at TEC3 since it has the ignition setup and all that good ****

already included AND I can get it for $1800. How reliable/streetable is a

stand alone though?

ii would prolly go with the tec 3, you could do 400rwhp with the pfc, but the more accurate ignition will make it easier to get the 500rwhp goal.

i'm running a haltech e6k on my FD. i have a tec 3 sitting in my room if i can't get the haltech running correctly guess what's going in my FD!

Theres a large support group for the haltech e6k, which makes it nice. The new e11 looks pretty bad ass, but nobody really has one installed yet. I'd stay away from the pfc, its a good ecu, but not as good for single turbo as others. I ended up switching from pfc to haltech after I went single.

We know what you need to do to get running correctly.



The Power Fc is nice for the street, but its map sensor limits you to 17lbs of boost. And the Jacobs ignition is perhaps the worst on the market. It'll crack your leading coil every other day. Been there done that.

The nice thing is Ray Lochead sells the Tec3 ready to plug in your stock wiring harness and he has a trigger sensor setup thats very nice. Something to consider if you buy it elsewhere.

So TEC3 is the way to go.



How about the rest of the setup? Anyone have experience with SFP manifolds or should I go with a cast unit?



Where can I get the teflon coolant seals and all the other *good* seals for the rebuild?



Any other helpful info?

Dragon/Igy/FD Okinawa(on the Fascist Forum) are running the SFP manifold. Good size runners and the price is right. :bigok:

The Power FC is you best bet.. and with the datalogit you can do everything you want and still keep all of the comfort items you want.. The ignition is very accurate and you can buy the boost control kit that comes with the 3 BAR map sensor or get the GM MAP sensor and put it in for cheap and you can then boost higher than your engine will ever handle.. Once you buy a datalogit you will become a member of their mailing list and where you will have all the help you need with tunning your car along with data logging.. It is great and I would recommend it over all of the other sytems if your going to using the car on the street...
