i'm running hks t04 hi fi turbo. I'm currently using the SBC-ID to control boost. i set my boost at 12psi, and the peak is at 14psi. lastnight we were doing some testing, the boost jump up to 21lb. does it mean my boost contorller is not working? or my wastgate didn't open? should the boost controller open the wastgate eventhough the spring on the wastages is from 22psi?
i'm running a 12psi spring on my car with the blitz sbc-id. it can keep the boost down to 8psi in lower gears!
make sure the solenoid is close the wastegate the further away it is mounted the worse control you will have! |
i removed the vacum off the wastgate. i still see 16lb before i let off, since my wategate is only 10lb spring, is that mean the wategate never open? it should open when i boosted over 10psi right? is there a way to test the wastgate to see it's working propertly?

the blk box is mounted on the same side as the turbo, just below the strut bar. I don't remember reading anything on blitz site about longer hose? anyway, if i back out the screw on the wategate itself, it shouldn't boost more the my what spring rate is right? if it's still over boost which mean my wastegate is not working at all?
i really do not know about that blitz controller, but if it has a duty setting on the solenoid like my avc-r, that could be your problem. IF it has a duty setting, try setting it lower....??????
i am sure that this did not help you one bit.... |

folks who run the sbcid unit in a fd, were do you mouth the controller itself?
i put mine under the center vents....
vosko,
got any pic of it? |
i will as soon as i get good enough velcro that will hold it there for more than 10 seconds LOL
You most definitly have the vaccume lines hooked up wrong.. most boost contolers are made so if the solinoid fail it will go to the min boost of the wastgate or actuator...
there is only two vacum. one to the upper intake manifold, which is the reference? and the other vacum connected to the nipple of the wastgate from the boost controller. we tried everything it still over boost, what else could it be? maybe the wastegate is bad?
Ok.. you run a vaccume hose from the intercooler pipe before the intercooler to the side of the wastgate... Now run run a seperate hose from the intercooler pipe before the inercooler to the boost controler solinoid in side then from the out side to the top of the wastgate... and you run a seperater one from the intake manifold to the boost sensor.... So you should have 3 hoses...
