Not to jump the gun on the completion of my project, but what sort of checklist do I need to go through before (attempting) to crank it wrt to the turbo? Do I need to do anything with the bearings, maybe squirt some oil in it or something?
Maybe cut some of the blades on the compressor wheel? Hehe. TIA! |
post up cause I have that in a 1.00 divided. Hope it screams.

Just pull the EGI fuse and crank it for a few seconds. This will get the oil flowing into the turbo before the thing actually starts spinning up.

Ahem, huh? You mean don't let it spark? Oh and mine is also 1.00 divided https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png. |
Bump for T04R's....WoooT!
Yeah, its kinda like the unflooding procedure, except without the flood https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png oh, BTW...mine is a 1.32 divided https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif |

Waiting on IC piping and an alternator clip from Mike (j9fd3s). |

Before you fire it up you're going to want to prime the whole oil system by cranking it till you get oil pressure. It's going to take more then a few seconds of cranking to fill the oil cooler so don't fret if you have to crank for 20-30 seconds before you get pressure. So just go into your haltech and turn off the fuel injectors while cranking. Once you get oil pressure turn the injectors back on and with a timing light hooked to the #1 leading wire go ahead and try to fire it up the first time. If you get lucky like I did it will fire up right away and then you want to zero in your timing.

Waiting on IC piping and an alternator clip from Mike (j9fd3s). Take lots of pics and video if you can when you start it up! What IC are you running? |

Nah...you'll be fine I'm sure. Mine is coated as well...and it's purrrrty! I can't tell you the performance just yet. I hope to have it running by May, maybe sooner. I can tell you that I'm running a Half-BP motor and will be shooting for 450whp @ 15psi. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif |

What IC are you running? I'm running the large Isuzu NPR intercooler. |
Sweet...I'll be interested to see how it performs

you don't need oil in the turbo charger at idle, it isn't spinning fast enough to need it. By the time you start worry about it, it would've already gotten oil.
