well i heard back from earl's fittings today and after talking to them 3-4 times on the phone, digital pictures and exact thread measurements. Lloyd who has been very helpful told me they dont make the oil fitting. maybe its somthing that is a japan only part, or a custom job they did but, that he has nothing anywhere that has the restrictor hole. soooo i guess i gotta call apexi usa again today. i think this time i will ask for apexi japan contact info. hahahaha you guys who said the apexi single turbo couldnt get rebuilt in the states werent kidding. i cant even get the oil fitting in the states. i miss my baby https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

Don't you just love that BS?! I'm sort in the same fix as you I can't my Fu&*)&^ tranny mount to work. Really starting to tick me off.
can you get one without the restrictor, and put the restrictor in somewhere else?
mike |
I like what Mike said. Just get the regular fitting with out the restrictor hole. Then buy a socket head pipe plug, drill it out to the size you need for the orifice. Drill/tap the earls fitting, thread the pipe plug into the fitting. Bing! done. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

earl doesnt make that metric thread size so i cant even do that......damn those japanese with their metric system......or maybe damn america with its stupid standard sizes.....the rest of the world uses metric why cant we!!!!!
i know, i hate standard stuff
mike |
Why don't you just drill and retap the hole to an available size. Thats way easier then all the bullshit they are putting you through.
He probably doesn't want metal shavings in his turbo.
BTW, nice avatar :bigthumg: |

If it's a banjo style like my TD07 is you can do what I did here. It was pretty simple. Just drill/tap the end of the bolt and thread in the socket head pipe plug.
ah that would work. I was also wondering how he would keep the shavings out of his turbo if he tapped it;)
its not a banjo style is a straight through fitting. the reason i dont retap the turbo is because i dont want the shavings in the housing. if you look for the thread i did last week it has a link to a pic.
Can't see the pic, can you repost it?
Mine wasn't a banjo either to begin with but I made it into one. |
no access, to that link.
upload the picture to this forum instead of tring to link to the other forum. For some reason it isn't working
try this link. i uploaded it to nopistons.net
http://www.nopistons.net/modules.php?set_a...=view_photo.php |
ah I see. And u can't find that?! Take that fitting to a maching shop or some place there's gotta be someone who can dup that.
so what is the size is this anyhow? I can't believe they don't make a straight fitting.
sorry my bad
do they have anything that will go into the turbo at all? you may have to make a completely new line
mike |
Looks like M10x1.5 thread and -4 or -3 male JIC on the other side. To test it just try to screw a bolt into the turbo that you know the size of. I bet thats the same thread as my mitsu turbo, if so you can do the same thing I did.

you need to contact metric and multistandard components for advice
you ever get this sucker working? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif Intrested in knowing.
i believe he got apex japan to send out another oil fitting... but they have to send it to apexi usa and the next shipment won't be until 2 weeks or so... then he has to call apex usa and have them send it to a apexi dealer cause they can't accept money directly... bunch of crap for just a little piece
Why not just get the fitting I listed? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png He'd be driving his car for 2 weeks now. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif
