I am going with a large single turbo and I received this oil feed line attached to the turbo. I really dont know how big the hole that feeds oil to the turbo should be but I thought I might ask if this looks like it will work. It looks very very small to me. Sorry for the size and quality.

Thanks

That looks VERY small. What kind of turbo?

Its a HKS/Garrett T04E turbine. Yea it looked really small to me as well. I ran water through it and it seems to spit it out pretty good but I dont know if it will work reliably.

those small restrictors are usually only for bb turbos... otherwise a -3 or -4an line will work on a normal bearing turbo.

Thanks for the heads up, but do you think it would hurt the turbo if I ran it with this line? BTW, my turbo is non-BB.

I would start with something with the same ID as a -4 line. That's what I had for my T-78, and I never had any smoking problems. A friend of mine messed up when assembling his AN fittings and caused a large restriction in his line. That helped fry his turbo.

That appears to be the correct restrictor for the TO4E. If you want to measure it it should be between 1.5mm and 1.8mm. Mitusbishi turbos(T78) have different internal CHRA design and do not require an external restrictor, Garrett turbos (TO4E) do require a restrictor in the line or adapter. I have the same style restrictor on my TO4 based turbo. On the odd chance that you don't believe me and remove the restrictor and the turbo smokes, the smoke is caused by to much oil flow into the turbo causing pressure to build up and push oil past the seals.

Ok, thanks Igy. I figured someone from Oki would know since this is where the turbo came from and ill bet it was on someones car there yall know. I purchased this turbo kit from a good friend of mine named John Dixon, who was stationed in Oki.
