I have never really read up on any detailed information about turbo shaft play. Anybody have any knowledge to pass on the subject? Any kinda tolerances to stay within?

i don't exact tolerances but in and out play should be NIL if trying it by hand

yah any in and out is bad but side to side depends on the turbo. the fd twins have a lot for their size

Well does that mean the bigger the turbo the more play to expect? What about ball bearing turbo's. I starting thinking about this when I realized my apexi that has been thrashed around and abused has zero play, which is good, but i was just curious.

well you would think the bigger the turbo the more play, but not always. the fd ones have a lot of play (even new) relative to the size.

you would also think that the bb turbos would have near zero, ive only seen the apexi one too
