W/g runners welded. Now to stick in a chassis and position w/g then its off to be coated.

That looks great! Keep us updated with this!

Question: When you welded the wg runners, did you weld them there for any specific reason? Ive seen and worked with many manifolds that have wg runners in all different spots which all worked well. Ive just always believed that the closer to the collector, or in this case the turbo, the more precise the wg reading will be. Do you think you'll encounter any issues with boost spikes using 2 wg runners reading off of completely seperate exhaust runners?

[attachment=39218:attachment][attachment=39217:attachment] well here is the latest pics he sent for me...I decided to have him fab up a 3.5" downpipe with the WG routed back into exh.

Any problems fitting oil drain with the turbo flange in that position?

Midnightdriver 08-23-2006 12:04 AM

Actually no, the position of the turbo now will eliminate an iffy section of the old set up.

looks great

i had elliot put a tial 38mm w/g on my stock s4 turbo manifold rerouted into my downpipe.

I can't wait to run it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Looks good. What size piping are you using for both the main runners and wastegate?

1Revvin7 08-26-2006 08:25 PM

2" for the main runners since he wants to keep the boost low, and autoX the car, 1 3/4" for the wg runners.

I want to run between 18-20 (high boost) and between 7 (wg) and 12 normally on this set up...but remember auto cross is only one thing I plan on doing...I also plan on track days at local circuit and perhaps some road trips to Laguna and Thunder Hill...It will see drag days as well...I plan on using this thing as an all around car..not just a single focused toy.
