I finally talked my buddy at work into buying my apexi kit and I just bought this stuff to replace it......

wow that https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif thing looks nice...

vosko 12-03-2002 10:40 PM

who made that kit ??

94touring 12-03-2002 10:45 PM

I bought it from a guy named Jon Coats who put it all together but never finished. Its a Majestic Turbocharger T-62, HKS Wastegate, HKS downpipe, HKS manifold and theres some other crap too.

Silver Ninety Three 12-03-2002 10:51 PM

Looks good. Let us know what power you make. The rx-6 turbo is tiny. Not worth getting in my opinion unless you don't want big power and road race or something.

Ranzo 12-03-2002 10:52 PM

Hey 94 Touring, just noticed your from Wilminton NC. I used to be stationed at Camp Lejune and spend lots of time in Wilminton.....usually at the Hooters but nevertheless

I loved North Carolina and hated to leave but now Im in Japan so what to do......lol

Any way what kind of A/R is on the exhaust side, in the picture it looks a little small.

vosko 12-03-2002 10:53 PM

i was gonna say HKS but i wasn't sure https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

1Revvin7 12-03-2002 10:54 PM

how much? looks purty :yum:

94touring 12-03-2002 11:09 PM

1.00 A/R turbine, and a .70 compressor. There is a lot less restriction on the manifold and downpipe too, I never really like the way the apexi stuff looked when I first got it. The rx6 is a great turbo and makes good power, but your limited. I sold the apexi kit for $2500 and bought this kit for $2500.

I use to work about a block down from hooters, Wilmington is a cool place to live. You don't happen to know a guy named...Pablo, drove a blue civic made like 450fwd on the dyno. He was up there and was shipped off to Japan, but I think he got thrown in the big house for fraud or something.

It's not on the car yet.. get your ass to work... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

94touring 12-04-2002 04:24 PM

I'm still waiting for a couple extra parts from turbonetics.....hopefully in a week or two i'll have it in there. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

Dragon 12-04-2002 04:32 PM

lol.. you'll be waiting for ever... they get you the parts, it just seems they take there time doing it...

vosko 12-04-2002 04:34 PM

you need to modify the downpipe to work right ?

94touring 12-04-2002 04:38 PM

Yeah that the main part, I had to get the adpater for the downpipe and a couple other odds and ends.

Ahh.. I see.. no flange on the ex-housing, but square flange on the front pipe... Are you getting the V-band.. It' kicks butt, but you may have a small ex leak somtimes... usually it will seal up once the turbo and front pipe get hot...

94touring 12-04-2002 04:40 PM

Yep getting the V-band.

hmmm, sounds like a std https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Dragon 12-04-2002 04:45 PM

put a little (LITTLE) grease on it before clamping it up and always clamp it up first, then attach the mid pipe.. this will make a big diffrence in how well it seats.. the grease will burn off in a few min...

vosko 12-04-2002 04:51 PM

not bad....................

Hey, that's what I have! Good turbine. Full boost at around 5000 rpms. It has good power down low, and LOTS of top end punch!

Cool man I thought thats what you had. Have you ever dynoed it? I'm curious what to expect from it at 15-18psi.

jspecracer7 12-05-2002 04:53 PM

Only one legit Dyno here in Okinawa...and it's appx. $100 for 2 pulls... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/dunno.gif

Expect it to be FAST... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

I am going a little smaller. I am buying the kit that Nick @ N-Tech is putting together. Killer13B made 370@10psi with it. Since I am strictly a road racer I don't want too much horsepower.

I am going to be pulling the engine after Christmas and taking it to Marvelspeed for a rebuild. I'll keep everyone updated.

Vosko did that MP work out? I had serious fitment issues with the DP that I bought that came with it. I ended up having to get another one.

vosko 12-09-2002 01:48 PM

the MP fits perfect. not a problem. my T78 made 352 rwhp @ 9psi https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
