Note: If you blow up your engine, don't go around looking for me, it was your fault not my.

Sounds like a good way to blow yourself up.

The toluene and xylene supposedly work, but why not just by some avgas. Cost for 100 low lead is around $2 a gallon

I have mixed up racegas before using xylene. The Eclipse has a 16 gallon tank, I tossed 5 gallons of xylene in with some marvel mystery oil, and filled up with 91 octane (God I hate Cali) Full tank of right around 100octane. Worked rather well, cost is about the same as buying 5 gallons of 110 leaded and mixing it up. Obviously the leaded mix works a bit better, cause you get more octane out of the mix, but there is nothing wrong with using xylene or toluene to mix your own happy sauce. Both chemicals are in gasoline already. They both actually smell like gasoline.
