Ok guys I thought I would come here and show off my new Greddy FMIC! I noticed a nice HP increase and the car seems to handle high end alot better (more smooth).

that looks so nice and your car must be running a lot cooler now rather than having the stock
|
yah, tell him he did a nice job making it all fit :bigthumg:
mike |
damn tight, what up with the oversized battery? maybe it just looks big cuz u got so much other **** in there... nice
|
The battery is a little bigger than stock. It came with the car when I bought it.
When I got the car it had one modification (strut bar) and the engine was dead. Now look at all the stuff that has been done to it! I can't wait to get my Haltech and Turbo Upgrade next week! |
looks VERY good :yum:
|
Looks GREAT!
|
Is that the new V-SPL core fmic from Greddy? How much? From where?
|
turborotor has the same one. it def fits better on 89-91's though :bigthumg:
|

Nice, what kind of turbo is that. I got 3k to spend here...but I am debating on what kind of turbo upgrade to do. I was thinking of doing a stage 3 or 4 from BNR... What are my other choices that aren't going to cost me $2000+ |

I want to be able to do atleast 350hp. I was looking at the BNR stage 3 but have heard that these sometimes aren't the best bet. The other 1k I am using for a Haltech.

u bastards, ill be back in this thread when i find another TII https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

I saw it last night... that is one big intercooler! :bigthumg:

Well I was looking at the HKS T04E kit and it looks really nice but is kind of pricey. Now if I did a custom job I was wondering if it would be better. For instance I got a quote from BNR on this:
60-1 compressor wheel T04B dynamic Package 360 thrust package 15 degree clipped turbine ported wastegate ported turbine housing entrance all new piston rings/bearings ect. balanced and blueprinted 1 year warranty Now the quote I got for this is to send my turbo in and they do the above to it. The cost is $700. With this setup I was also thinking of getting a external wastegate.... Do you guys think this would be a better way to go? Also the above should fit right in a require little modification/s. |
Natas unfortunately because they are using your stock turbo you won't be able to go with an external wastegate. The good part though is that because it's your stock turbo it will bolt directly to your stock manifold. The only modification you may need to do is have a spacer put on so that it has room to fit in the space between the engine and fender(pushes it up higher so that it will have the required space).

Great start IMO. Is your engine ported?

Ok guys here's the verdict on what I am doing:
I talked to Don Marvel of www.marvelspeed.com about everything and he said in his experience that its better to go with a full turbo rather than a hybrid....plus Don know's that I will probally want more power in the end. Kind of funny tho, when I first got my car it needed a rebuild so I went to don. He suggested I get a street port and I said...no that's just extra....I am not going to do anything to it other than keep it stock. Well he convinced me to get a nice good street port and I am happy as hell I went that way. So anyway don told me if I got a Hybrid I would probally want more in the long run....why not get something bigger now and run low boost? So we decided on a 60-1 Turbo with a Tial Wastegate and one of his special customized manifolds. Don claims that this manifold blows away the HKS and other commercial products. I may go over to Don's tomorrow to get pic's of the manifold that he completed for me today. We are waiting for the Turbo to come in then we are dropping it all in on Saturday. Until I get a haltech I will probally run no more than 8psi. I have 2 720 secondaries and a Walbro fuel pump...but we don;t want to push it until I get the haltech.....but when I do get the haltech it will be on! I'm going to run 12-14psi with the haltech (controlled by my Apex-i Super AVCR!) |
sounds good. turborotor is running almost the exact setup... his car is an easy 12 second car with traction https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png
|
i love it
|
Sounds like a nice set up! Did you ever get any gauges?
|
Yes the Boost guage is going to be installed when I get the new turbo!
|
i want an FMIC https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif ah guages, i just installed my defi link system:water and boost tonight. Not totally done, but all the wiring is.
