its a garret from a diesel truck. but its not so HUGE like most i have seen used. even has a T4 flange. but it says 1.15 AR on the hot side and 1.10 on the front side. although it really isnt that big of a turbo. not much bigger than my .70 in physical size.
but i know its not the housing that makes the AR. its the blades. wich makes me think this turbo will spool very well. it has a 3 inch inlet and 2.5 inch outlet on the cold side. and 3 inch v-band for the exhaust. but some things i would want to find out about this is if it if ball bearing. it most likely is, since most garrets i have seen on diesel trucks are. the only numbers i can find are on the hot side: 451898 - 1 couldnt find a place on the garrett site to identify this turbo by those numbers. anyone can help me with this? i would really like to drop that XS power off my motor before i get it tuned, and swap this bad boy in... |
this is the exact same one...
http://www.invasionauto.com/page.php?p=par...t=TC-1822702C92 trying to figure out about the oil feed and return. you cann see it in the link. |
I have this same turbo sitting in front of me. Apparently it was on some honda for a period, but it must have been short because it basically looks brand new. I know nothing about it, the only thing I could find was this thread (which, no offense, isn't much help).
Do you happen to know which truck it came off of? Anyone else have some insight? Thanks. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif |
Ah ha! Getting somewhere, I ran just the number through google, without "garrett" on there. Came up with this:
http://www.ford-trucks.com/for....html The truck's a 96 7.3 PSD Now we're getting somewhere, just need to figure out what this turbo's good for flow wise. |
throw it in a lake... if it floats, it's a witch.

If anything I'd tie it to their feet to make them sink. The bastard's heavy! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif |
i sold this turbo a while ago.
its a GTP38. there decent power makers, but the awkward style makes it hard to use. i welded up an feed and return flange with AN fittings on it so the oil and feed was taken care of. but the turbo is opposite than most turbos. wich made it a real hard fit insde the FC engine bay. |

I was told TP, I'm not sure what the differences are, but here's the map of the TP: http://geocities.com/tt95gt/PS_turbo/TP38zoom.jpg |
