I am buying a '88 RX-7 and I have to admit that I am new to the car. It isnt the Turbo II version but im a turbo freak; though im new at that subject too. My question is, should I just stick in a turbo or swapp for a Turbo II motor first? I want to drive my FC on the street and Im broke as a biotch. Any help from the RX-7 veterans out there will help. Also, I have searched all over gods created internet and I have found only 2 body kits for the '88 FC. One by Bomex and one is a jap kit from GP Motorsports. If anyone can point out some other sites with kits for my car I would be grateful.

If youre broke then you arent gonna get any type of turbocharger on it, and bodykits are pretty pricy also. You also have to take into consideration its not a honda, rx7s arent as common and there isnt a HUGE aftermarket for body kits to the fb or fc. There are a few companies that make some, most are for the purpose of helping the car, not just appearance. If you want to do extreme body mods to it, i suggest going with a different car. As for the turbocharger... buy yourself a nice TII. There is nothing more to it. You want to do an NA to turbo change... its gonna be VERY costly. The non turbo models werent built to handle that much power and not only will you have to spend thousands on the turbo, fuel, ecu ... but also driveline, axels, etc... You would basicly have to build a new car.

Being a broke dick and then getting into cars is not good. Usually being into cars will make one broke. Anyway....you said you are new to the car. Get to know it before you want to change everything about it. If you want to change all that stuff, maybe you bought the wrong car. What kept you from buying the right car? Was it money? If you couldn't afford to get the car you originally wanted, then it will not be cheap to make the car into what you want it to. Or just buy a Turbo2 for a little bit more. You WILL spend more to make a non turbo FC into a turbo car than what you will spend to buy one that came that way from the factory. Buy a car, get the car running right and go to driving events and learn how to drive.

In general, body kits are stupid. Save your money, which you said you have almost none of, for something that will make the car better. Or save it for a rainy day. Rainy days follow FC's.

Actually there are many companies that make body kits for the FC. Bomex, Border, GPmotorsports, BN sports, Re amemiya, TBO, Ride Sports. There are more but thats the ones from the top of my head. All of these companies do not have websites though. Mostly the Web is a new thing for shops in japan. Get a copy of Option magazine or something. Or you can PM me and I will give you phone#'s and addresses.

As far as turbo goes get a Turbo II and start from there, much less headaches and prolly less money in the long run.
