i am trying to piece together a turbo kit for my 91 n/a

i found an HKS manifold for a good price but how do i know what size turbo would fit on it. it doesnt give a trim size could it be the same size as the factory tII. i will add the link for it as soon as i find it.

By the looks of it you'd have to find a flange and have it welded on. How many turbo's have you seen that have round flanges?

I just checked out the HKS website and they don't list a ss tubular manifold for the 87-91 TII. They only list a cast iron manifold. I could be wrong, but I don't think that you're going to recieve the item pictured.

Yes thats the FD ss manifold for the hks racing waste gate and a T51. Both are V-band. the one for the FC is cast iron and will fit many sizes of turbo.. it be real easy to call HKS and ask what p/n manifold to what size turbo you want to use.

turbo manifold new from OBX

Try this one. You might like it and it's cheaper.

BTW in a different add for this same manifold it states that any of 6 different external wastegates will fit it. They range in size from 35mm, 38mm, and 40mm(2bolt design) and also 40mm, 46mm, 50mm (4 bolt design) from blitz, greddy, apexi, and hks. It also includes the gaskets needed to install these wastegates.

no one even makes a turbo exhaust manifold for an NA.

7mech 04-06-2004 02:36 PM

If I'm correct the manifold bolt pattern for the turbo II and N/A are the same, so you should be able to use the same manifold with some minor adjustments so that it will fit around the intake manifold. I could be wrong, so if some of the other N/A guys could chime in and confirm or deny this I would appreciate it.

Compare the bolt pattern for this roadrace header from Racing Beat with the turbo manifold I linked earlier in the thread. They look to be the same.

the na manifold sticks out a lot further than the t2. if you compare the two the t2 hugs the block so theres more room for a turbo.

i tried an hks iron fc manifold with an na intake and it almost fits, it would need a spacer or 2 made, but it could work.

roadkill669 04-09-2004 12:18 AM

They are the same. I made my manifold for my T2 using the header flange from RB. I also purchsed an NA gasket to confirm that it would work, and it does.

Thanks for the back up guys. I hope this helps him.

bigbignacha 04-12-2004 09:00 PM

thanks guys i really appreciate all the input. i am new to not only rotarys but forced induction also. so far i have an hks intake, i did the throttle body mod and had BDC finish modding the throttle body by taking out the pressure drop points etc. i have recently purchased an HKS Super AFR for fuel management. I am thinking about buying a rebuild kit from Atkins Rotary and rebuilding before i boost
