It's mainly an issue of the fuel octane you'll be using. If you're using pump gas and don't have any kind of WI, I don't recommend going over 14psi.

Yeah i'll be running 93 octane and no WI :(

We'll see what happens...

Be careful with it and ease your way into it. I'm very anxious to see the results. Speaking of results, I'd like to know the elevation of the area where the dyno is located as well as whether or not there's any 'inflation' of the figures afterwards...

I don't want to get into the whole argument about something i don't have yet. I'll have the dyno numbers in february running 13-14psi and we'll see.

Not argueing, I said specifically I think that the S300's can be decent, the one I priced out is all borg warner and built to spec using S300 parts. Saying "I want a S300" is like saying I want a "Chevy" it could be many different things. I have access to just about every wheel and part you can think of for BW. So I can make it any way you want. It gets a little more pricey when you start having me machine back plates and housings. That is why I say it's not worth it when people are selling for the most part standard units. Everything is going to have a minimum cost and when you start building custom spec'd units it starts to add up. So the only way you will make anything cheaper is to charge yourself less for the labor or start out with older(surplus)parts good luck when they run out for replacements.

Do I think you'll be happy with your turbo? Probably. Will it make any more power than a similarly sized turbo doubt it, there is only so much air x sized wheel will move. The trick is getting the combination right for your application. That includes numerous variables in trim size, wheel ratio, and A/r's for both front and rear. Doing that correctly will allow you to move that amount of air over a broader power band without sacrificing you top end. Personally I think if your only goal is 14-15 psi I hardly doubt you will be unhappy with it.

Elevation is St.Louis, look it up.

It's on a Dyna Pak 2000 dyno.

535 feet. Basically almost no altitudinal correction, then.

Hello all, I am glad that I found this thread. A couple comments...

BDC, thanks for being respectful over here. I think that there were so many emotions flying at rx7club.com that things got a little heated. Not to mention that on top of that there were quite a few childish remarks that were being tossed around carelessley.

Aside from that I have purchased a AF61. It is going into a FB with a rew. I will attach some pictures for your viewing pleasure. I am in the middle of the build and will have it up and running before may. I would be more than happy to post up some pictures possible a video of the dyno pull.

So with that thanks for the kind thread.

Hey I just looked at those pictures on your site BDC. Is it possible to have the john deere turbo housing on there. IIRC they are almost identical looking. The schweitzer housing does not look the same.
