Hey everyone I kind of curious and dont really understand this..
Just for an example ... If you have a T-28 (small turbo) on a 3rd gen and can get 15 PSI out of it. Is that the same as getting 15 PSI from a larger turbo on a #rd gen such as a GT35/40. Or are you getting alot more air with the GT35/40 at 15 PSI than the T-28 at 15 PSi. Im confused, I'd figure if the boost guage is reading both 15 PSI for both turbos, they should be taking in the same amount of air regardless of the size of the turbo, Is this correct? Please someone help me understand this.. I dont know this just popped in my head today and I thought I would figure it out but I cant. LOL. |
No, you would make alot more power outa the 3540 because it is flowing more air. the T28 flows very little air whereas the 3540 flows alot. boost is just how compressed it is. you could have all the boost you want but if of only a tiny bit is getting in its not gonna help much

An other thing to think about is the big turbo that flows more volume will also not heat the air as high in temp . Cooler air is better air .
