Here's an interesting link for turbo sizing, etc... http://www.moreboost.org/turbos.htm

Not sure how correct it is as they list the exducer size for the T78 at 90mm. That would be larger than my "upgraded" wheel which necessitated serious machining of the compressor housing for it to fit.

I believe I measured it at 89 mm...maybe I was off a MM, making it a GT40 compressor wheel. Now it's my understanding they don't make a turbine side that'll work with a rotary setup? Is that the case as far as you know Tyson? They did say it was a genuine Garrett GT wheel.

I'm not sure. I think they don't make a ball bearing CHRA for the GT40. Best way to find out is to contact them directly. Garrett Turbos

I think when the GT42R comes out it is gonna be king. I've only heard a little about it thought. What do you guys think of the T62-1?

T62-1 is an awsome turbo. As I already told Scrub in a PM, I scared away a buyer for my car because of the power. Sliding all over the road at 40+mph isn't appealing to everyone, but I think its fun!!

62-1 is an awesome turbo! It's got good low end power and still got enough "ummpphh" at the top end to please just about anybody. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

BoostedRex 08-12-2003 12:25 PM

What about the 68-1 turbo? Also, where could I find some more info on this one? I head it mentioned in the Nazi forum and was just wondering. Anyone??

HedgeHog 08-12-2003 05:28 PM

It will be mine...oh yes...it will be mine. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

I agree its badass, but for 298,000yen or $2511.54, you can have it

Here's a bad translation :-)

It decreases the friction by adopting the ball bearing for shaft support, contributes to the improvement of the response.

-

You adopt the left screw for the lock nut of the shaft. Urgent acceleration and deceleration

-

You adopt the water cooling sensor housing which withstands also hard use sufficiently.

-

It polishes in the compressor housing and administers finishing, contributes to the fine view inside the engine compartment.

-

Compared to you adopt the paw Ted shroud which is optimized, are thorough the prevention of the surging in the intermediate limits.

-

It is low with the double inlet turbo housing which the entrance of the turbo housing to 2 ports is converted, response improvement when turning output improvement at the time of high revolution compatibility.

-

The design which prevents the exhaust escaping gas due to the flange distortion of the turbo housing.

*

When installing by all means water cooling piping becomes necessary.

*

The seal tape, please do not use the liquid gasket to the oil line.

Thing is, it still uses "old school" T series compressor/turbine. Why not just go with something from Innovative?

One thing I realized on my setup is that I have one of the "old" T78/88 GReddy headers meaning it's not fully divided. I have no desire to spend $1200 to find out if the fully divided version makes a big difference however. I have a feeling that if I swap to a slightly smaller rear turbine housing for the T78 it'll help spool up (duh) and hopefully won't throw the pressure ratios out of whack. In a nutshell, what I have now is a GT35/40 minus the BB center and T3 exhaust housing. If Innovative can mate my compressor to a BB center section and more efficient T4 turbine/housing, it'd be one hot turbo. Just make sure it's a fully divided manifold!

TYSON 08-12-2003 07:07 PM

It's purty, but I thought it would be bigger than that. Also thought they would use GT series parts for it.
