Well, i guess it's time to let the cat outta the bag!
This has been a long project of mine...but the past few months, I've been trying to wrap things up. Here are just a few pics of the motor...hopefully will have it dropped in this weekend. Lots more goodies as well. Enjoy! |
Holy ****, that's alot of metal! Heh. What is this going into, it looks really awesome!! And is your downpipe and turbo manifold powdercoated? What is that? I like it alot!
|
Thanks! It's going into my 89 TII. The manifold and DP are both Ceramic Coated.
The UIM and LIM and Water pump housing are Powdercoated glossy black. The turbine housing is HPC coated and compressor, TB and elbow are polished. |
Looks awesome man.
|
That's sexy!
|
Badass.
|
Thanks for the compliments guys!
Should be dropped in the car tomorrow! |

Sweet man. That looks really promising. I feel like an idiot. What turbo? ECU you will be running? Etc.? Nah dude, no worries...there are no stupid questions. The turbo is a Garrett TO4R, P-trim w/ 1.32 exhaust A/R. I'll be running a Haltech E6X. I will also be running coolingmist's dual stage water injection. I'm hoping to make 450whp @ 15psi. |
Oooh, I like the TO4R's. They seem to be very promising. Running on stock ports I suppose?

Got the motor in today!
Big thanks to Cornfed! I couldn't have done it without him! The manifold couldn't have fit more perfectly...which isn't bad for it being made 3000 miles away! I'll definitely get some video when we fire it up... Here a few more pics! |
I really like that black powder coating. Its hawt.
|
It's Running!

I really like that black powder coating. Its hawt. That's a really professional looking setup, I know rotaries can spool big turbos but it always seems kinda weird to see a turbo that's 1/4 the size of the engine. Mark |
nice work.
how yall like those gaskets? |
Thanks!
Love the gaskets...they are reusable, and press into place and make a nice seal every time! Definitely worth the little extra money... |
