i just bought an 88' Rx-7 turboII, the origanal problem was the clutch needed replacing. but the owner never got around to fixing it. it sat for 2 years, so i towed it home, bought a clutch kit, changed all the fluids including gas, so my question is this...im not sure how turbo's work, and on a rotary i know even less.

i am affraid to start the car until i know if i should do anything to the turbo. i have learned they use oil to stay lubricated and after 2 years im sure there is no oil in it.

any advice would be greatly apreciated as i dont want to spend a bunch of money on ignorance and impatience so i thought id ask.

I guess you could prime the motor and the turbo's bearing by removing the EGI fuse and cranking the motor over for 30secs or so. That would circulated oil throughout the entire system as it is a mechanical operation. Check the pinned faq's up top, there is some good information. Check out the engine building/porting section for a more detailed look at the rotary engine.

I noticed you have this thread in 2 other sections. Since I answered your question this closed.
