Found a kit i liked but the turbos a 20G and that seems a bit large, lotsa lag and only top end i suppose but im not sure any input
thanks |
20g not that big for a rotary..they are a good size for a dsm..(friend has on on his dsm) They pull pretty good he gets full spool about 4500-5K rpm or so. A 20G is pretty good turbo for the street.
|
alright thanks man, i dont know to much about turbos. Thanks for the help. any other input would be nice, also what would be a good intercooler for that im lookin at a 2 row from greddy, think id be better off with a 3 row.
|
How much boost is your friend running in his dsm to hit full by 5k. What kinda dsm i love em tryin to get my buddy to sell his mustang and get another 1gb talon
|
Hes running 18-20 psi low boost pump gas for that...we have done a few 25psi pulls (100 oct) with that current set up. Hes got a 95 tsi...he keeps breaking x-missions. His J Shep. stage 4 should be in next week.
|
Gettin a shep trans, those are mint 5 or 6 speed? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683621.gif
What do you think about the intercooler though 2 row be enough or should i go with a 3 row? |
what kind of car is this for? DSM or RX-7? and what are your goals?
and hes getting the 5 sp. |
an rx 88TII lookin for around 300-350 hp
|
ok then...use something other than a 20g. like T04E...The Greddy 2 row will be good for that. Dont forget to get all the other supporting mods..fuel etc...
|
So a 20G would be to big?
|
Can you think of any company that sells like a full kit with all piping and that good stuff(all but IC).
|
No..but you could get a better turbo. Greddy does make a 20g kit but you already knew that..not saying don't get it but if you do get a BB turbo. You will have fun with it.
|
What are the advantages of a bb turbo and whats the greddy turbo?
|
Would you have some suggestions for a turbo and/or setup that would be good for around 300-350 hp.
thanks |

What are the advantages of a bb turbo and whats the greddy turbo? You get a faster spool from a BB turbo..I believe the greddy kits come with a traditional staft type turbo... The 20G will give you the power you want. Another one you could think about its a 60-1 BB turbo..that will give you the numbers you want and spools quicker.. I will say this the kit your looking at I considered too when I started my project its not a bad kit by any means and pretty affordable. I would call and ask if you could get the 20g in BB.. you can always upgrade later. |
Alright man thanks for the help again.
I'm sure i'll have more questions in the somewhat near future. So don't be surprised. Last thing can you make a turbo a BB or does it pretty much have to be made that way and who makes some good 60-1 BB that i could look into. |
20g is a small turbo for a rotary.
Go with a GT30R and a HKS manifold. I like larger intercoolers and would like around a 3row 24x18x3in or so or bigger depending on car but around there |
Thanks man
I'll look into it |
The RX7 "20g" is a 16cm2, the EVO-DSM "20g" is an smaller 8cm2. Cmon, do some research.
The FCs Greddy kit is a quick spooling. |
