I am a new owner so I am trying to learn as much about the car as possible. When I hit 6500 rpm my car sputters and acts up. It almost acts as if it had a rev-limiter, but I don't think they have them???? Can anyone help me and let me know what is going on? Does it just need a tune up?

Is this stock or have you had stuff done?

The engine is mostly stock. It has A'Pexi intake & Catback Exhaust, but other than that it is stock (engine wise).

So your still running the sequential twins set up? Sounds like an issue with the change over between them. 6.5k seems a little late for the change over though. Sorry I can't remember where they change over in the stock set up, been a while since I've been in one. Have you checked to see if you there are any loose or cracked vacuum lines?

I was looking for loose vacuum hoses. I haven't found found any yet. The boost gauge shows a 10-8-10 boost pattern though. It does sound like a blow off valve is staying open when the 2nd turbo is spooling up, but the boost gauge is showing the 10psi and the car is still going like hell.... Does that help you any?

Hmmm. So when you hit 6.5k does it just lose power, or hesitate and come back again?

Do the asy stuff first. Make sure your air filter is clean. Then change your plugs. I use 9s all around. Thats about all there is to a "tune up".

IIRC, transition is at about 4500. If it's breaking up at 6500, (IMHO) it's probably an ignition issue, and I doubt it's any big deal.

Since you just bought it, (in addition to fluid changes and all the usual maintanance stuff) I agree that you should change out the plugs, but I'd stay with the stock heat ranges with your mods. If your real ambitious, change out the plug wires too. Neither cost all that much. Just be sure to use some anti-seize compound on the plugs and do them one at a time.

^Here's a couple of links that might be helpful. Lots of good info in the first. The second link has a downloadable Factory Service Manual.
