First time rotoring over here... I just picked up an 88 vert. 140k on chasis, 6k on street ported rebuilt NA.

Its got new headers and stuff but its on a stock exhaust. Some fake knockoff K&N cone filter. No emissions (sorry)



First time posting on some sort of weblog thingy... so sorry if I dont kno the etiquette



I'm in NyC (as such my name) and have takin it to this guy Smoking Joe at J&R's. They have madd FD's and FC's all over that place ... it made me soo jealous ... but they seem solid. Got me a new clutch, clutch master cyl, slave and lines. But it keeps making a whilring / whinning noise even with a new pilot and throwout bearing. (my clutch and CMC were shot anyway). Hmmm ... any advice anyone?



Also sometimes it wont start properly, ill turn the key and it wont do squat!! You'll just hear the click and the electricity juicing thru... sigh .... Usually fifty percent of the time when I'm trying to start it. Sometimes it starts beautifully though. I hope this indicitive of a huge problem that i just dont know about ...



Other questions about my NA ported rotory

what kinda gas (octane) should i use?

what kinda oil should i use? 10w40? 20w40?
should I use that 2 stage premix?







Anyway I have a billion more questions, I just dont know where to begin. Hopefully I will have a good rotoring expierence. I just dont know what to do with the FC yet, driving with the top down has been crazy fun. I've been eating civic's alive but it still needs a tune up hard. The fuel mix is soo rich and its idling hard.
