I bought myself a set of vert bbs rims for auto-x. I am planning to put slicks on them and i want to know what the widest tire i can put on the fronts is? My good rims have 215's so I know that would fit but any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

i wouldnt go any wider than 225, and thats if youre using a stock height sidewall. The vert rims are only 6.5" wide. If you go to www.tirerack.com it will tell you the acceptable rim diameters for each tire under the tire specs.

So i could put 225 up front and not have it rub on my springs?

I have 225's on the front of my fc without any rubbing problems, but I have 16" rims. I dont think you would have a problem, as long as you dont go any taller than stock height though.

i run 225/45r17 on the frount of my fc with jic coil overs, on a 8" wide rim but needed a .250" spacer for clearance of the shock but on a stock stut there is no problem even running a 235 with the proper width wheel.

my mustang rims had 235-45-17's, no rubbing on the coil overs, but if i didnt have camber plates they would have been all over the fenders

The rim width will pose more of a problem than the shock clearance. Vert rims are 15 x 6.5. A friend of mine has 245's on the front of his fc with 5 mm spacers.

I wanna know how in the heck you get a 245 on a 6.5 inch rim, I have 215/55 on a 17x6.5 and it looks like a balloon.
