If I wear flip flops, I take them off and put them under the seat and put them back on when I get out. Several people have let me know that "That's illegal." "What is?" "Driving barefoot." "Shut the hell up."

I do the same thing. Actually that's how I drove all the way to the BBQ and back. Never heard of it being illegal before.

I don't think driving in flip flops is that hard.

There were a couple reasons why the 3 of us brought fuel with us. Number 1 was because there was a possibilty of a fuel shortage due to hurricane refugees heading our way. Number 2 was because we drive hard and like to have a higher octane, especially with this OK 91. Number 3 for me was because yes I like to save a few bucks if I can get away with it. The other guys brought C16 along.

I asked dad about it, he says it's pretty much a bullshit law that no one enforces. (Maybe Alabama specific since us southern boys like our daisies duked and our feet bare.)

What if you have one flip flop on, the other is off with your leg folding in your lap? Thats how the majority of the trip was for me.

Yea, when I wear mine I do that too, I kick them off and sit em right in front of the drivers seat.

Several people reacted the same way about the Illegal stuff...oh well...

All I know if that heel-toe is easier barefoot than with New Balances on.

Barefoot driving is illegal in Louisiana, too. Supposedly has something to do with if you were in an accident and you have to get out of the car quickly then you may cut your feet up. Sounds like BS to me.
