the front will clear FD easily, the rear will give you about 1mm more clearance on the fender side than the maxcooper 18x10+50 fitment that everyone loves. Roll your fenders, they will fit.

 

i'm pretty sure my RB wheels were 17x9 +38 and they fit fine. even with unrolled fenders and 255/40/17 tires

 

A buddy of mine use to run his gram lights from his fc on his fd. They where 17x9 +38's in the back and they fit fine without any issues. Stock R1 suspension.
