I'll answer for the bits I know about:

Diff is definitely not a weak point, it's very strong. It's a clutch type. Many people have used the TII diff in other applications (FD) due to its strength....

If it works fine, but you just don't like where the pedal sits, you can adjust the rod that connects the pedal to the master.

Backfiring like how? A few pops can be normal, lots of unburnt fuel in the exhaust when you let off from high rev.

Not idling is likely a throttle body/TPS adjustment issue.

Try to find used parts. For new, you can't get much cheaper than directly from the manufacturer (racing beat). It's worth it, though. It sounds great, increases power, and will outlast your car.

Dust is up to the brake pad material.

I've never had squeaky brakes when replacing pads and rotors, only when replacing pads but NOT replacing or resurfacing rotors.
