And one from inside. Pics supplied to me by car sales men via e-mail.

looks good, id have it checked out by a mazda dealer before getting it though. is that a good price for them there?
|
I too wonder about the price. I don't know what the price is in USD. Looks like it is in good shape. Have it checked out by a Mazda dealership, or somebody that knows rotaries really well.
Also, ask for a carfax, or some kind of history check on the car. And ask what it was traded in on, was a fleet/rental car? Stuff like that. |
The price is quite good, iv'e seen then going for around $47K to $55K. I spoke more to the sales person about the car on the day and he said that the owner sold it after finding out it was a rotary. Apparently the owner didn't even know what that was and I don't think the salesmen does either. He said that there's something wrong with the cam sharft belt and that the motor needs new ones. I thought, what the hell is he talking about. Some people have no idea https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif |
Yep, it's about 4631.25 miles. |
thats really good, seems like the only thing left to do is to have it gone over by the dealer
|
I'll take your advise and take it for a test drive to the local rota shop and see what they say.
So, do you think I still should check the cam belts before I leave just to be on the safe side... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif What the hell did that dealer know. |
yeah check the cam belts and the valve springs just to be sure!
|
Thanks for everythi Shane.Trammellng. Much appreciated.

no prob. maybe you could ask the place that is selling it to look at those cam belts. then when they tell you that they looked at them you can tell them that you know they are lying and that they should give you a discount or you will tell everyone you know that they are liars.

that car new here at my dealer is on sale for 29900 with navy usd
|
That car has the same as what mine had when I bought it and I had 4 miles, paid $28k. I think the price is too high.
|
you guys have to think about the fact that the market in aus is different than the market here. there may be a lot fewer 8s available there than here, which would make the price increase. thats why i asked her if that was a good price there, and she said she sees them going for 47-50k compared to this one at 41k. that sounds pretty good to me.
|
good point Shane, I didn't think about that......
|
Sounds like a good price. I would grab it up if I wanted one. I would just get one without leather. Or sell the leather seats, and buy some cloth seats!
Good luck! |

i dont know why anyone says they prefer cloth over leather. the only cloth i would take over leather is the cloth from the base fd seats. cloth just makes the car look cheap imo, and they usually feel like you are surrounded by carpet.
|
Leather can get too hot.
|
If the cam belts are bad, you may need to check the headlight fluid as well, chances are that will be low, and is really expensive to replace :-D

I'm loving it. It was never really hot during the summer and the heated seats are AWESOME when it's cold in the morning.
