Assuming most of you have read S.C.C.'s coments on the new Renesis engine(see FEB03 technobable), what do you think the probability of slapping it into a FD is and how will it respond to boost? I am a first time poster so patience with protocol is appreciated.

i dunno about how it would take to boost, but its the perfect swap for a 1st gen, heres why

1. it makes bp power stock (240rwhp and 150lbsft, just like a bp)

2. it should be a lot easier to smog, it might not even need a cat with some tuning

3. it keeps the car na and so there no wieght penalty

there is some talk about the new periphial ports and how they wont respond as well to turbo charging.

The idea of the new engine was to keep it clean running, turbo rotories do not run clean. They got the same power as the stock FCs so I would say then did a good job on the engine at the sacrifice of the periphial ports.

well the new star mazda cars are putting 240hp to the ground with that motor. i like it, think about it the exhaust ports are each the same size as "normal" but there are twice as many. it makes bp power while not being a dirty smelly loud thing
