My friend just blew his renesis motor and he just bought a 13btt motor and tranny and is gonna put it into his rx8...will he be able to use his stock differential? and what other stuff he should know about before he goes about doing it?

Hi, did your friend check the engine before purchase? i believe it is a pre-owned engine and you should check on the parts like the housing, the apex seals and rotors. i personally would suggest V-Mounting the intercooler and Radiator for better cooling considering the heat that could be generating from the TT. I am drving a 2009 RX-8 turbocharged to 10psi (Greddy turbo kit) and the oil temps and water temps go way off the limits when i hit about 3-4 laps around the track. After switching to V-mounted intercooler and radiator coupled with a vented hood, extra oil cooler the temperature were well maintained. I could go on for about 15-20 laps without overheating.

another important thing is the handling aspect. No point having so much power with minimal control. Improve on the handling with better shocks & springs, underbraces strut bars, tyres and BKK. You would at least need a 4 pot BKK with those TT.

Hope you do not mind me asking how your friend blew his renesis engine? no point getting another engine if you do not know how to maintain it. you will just blow that away as well.
