I was at Mazda today again and I talked to my buddy there. I always ask to see if anything as in the way of problems with the RX8 are popping up or anything like that.

Well anyway this is JAPAN information, but maybe related to the US spec version in the future, but once again its only information.

SEVERAL COMPLAINS:

The center console is too hot--Not yet fixed still being researched (possibly transmission heat shield change)

MAZDA IS CHANGING A PART Before offical recall can happen:

Oil pan, oil pan gasket, and dipstick all will be changed (He said he wasnt sure of the reason or maybe he couldnt say)

ALSO Mazda says there is ABSOLUTLY no plan of a Turbo on the RX8 from them.

Anyway once again its just information.....

Thanks for the info Jason.

could you find out anything about the apex seals the Rx8 is using. are the apex seals for N/A only?

JT-Imports 11-09-2003 07:24 PM

Yeah i could ask that when I see RE-Amemiya and FEED at the show.

Mazda wouldnt know stuff like that hehe

I know a while back RE-Amemiya was building a 13B with Renisis motor parts so I think they would have a gouge on that.

No problem again for the info, as it comes up I will post it.

damn... it needs a turbo.

i guess we'll just have to be more creative then.

GoRacer 11-10-2003 06:39 PM

It would make more sense for them to do a Supercharger so there wouldn't be overheating paranoia from the 3rg gen 7. See if you can find out about future plans of producing a 15B or 1.5l Renesis rather.

JT-Imports 11-13-2003 02:06 AM

Yeah a supercharger/compressor would be better for a N/A engine IMHO
