ok so i bought my rx8 for a steal through my dealership....pearl white is my favorite color so that sealed the deal...it's an 05 touring with 6649 miles on it and i paid 17,800 before taxes....anyways its the first automatic ive ever bought....i cant say driven, because ive had girlfriends..lol, anyways am I looking at an entire powertrain (motor + tranny) swap, plus the obvious lines resaviors and pedal assembly with ecu....or what here, these new cars are a trip...i could swap a tranny on my second gen in no time but i dont know about this one...any input would be great, thanks

You want to swap an AT for a MT?
If thats what your saying.. You're out of luck on an '05 model. If you had the 2006+ (newer AT models), it could of been done.. Reason is, the older AT have only 4 ports, the manual has 6 ports. The new AT now have 6 ports, so swapping trans wouldn't be that difficult.

yeah....ive already decided on option 3, im pretty rotary savvy and have done my fair share of work on rx7's but i just bought my 8 and was wondering how tough the swap would be, but all i had to do was do a little reasearch to come to that conclusion...now i just need to find that perfectly wrecked rx8....lol, other than that car-part.com is your best friend..lol
