Has anyone had to change a fog light bulb yet? How about a headlight bulb. Did MAZDA go German and make this car imposible to work on? I need to replace a fog light bulb and I don't want to pay the dealer $1000 to remove the front bumper (and the core support and the radiator and the headliner and the tail lights and so on and so forth) to replace a fog light bulb. I would rather do it myself. If I don't have to remove the bumper to replace it, please let me know as to save me alot of time!!

Thanks,

Jack

havent done it yet, but warranty time is only .6, i find it hard to believe you really need to take the bumper off. yeah they pay .7 to pull the bumper off, so the fog light bulb must not require bumper removal.

the HID lights on the 3 do though, its an expensive job!

I'm thinking in getting the factory fog lights that mazda is selling in their website. You guys think it iwll come with the switch for it? Probably have to take the bumper off huh

The fog lights are not hard to replace at all. I did mine, as well as the park lights, this weekend. You can actually do it one of 3 ways:

1) go in through the fender wells; requires removing about 8 clips on each side - I didn't...

2) get to them from underneath; requires unbolting the black plastic from the bumper underneath the front - I didn't....

3) take the front bumper off; yes, there are more bolts and clips to remove this way, but it's way cleaner and a lot less frustruting - I did... it's NOT a big deal

I agree with ALWAZL8, take your time, and it is not a big deal https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

I had to take the bumper off to install the condenser/oil radiator guards. I also installed a homemade oil cooler fan.

The whole exercise was valuable, because I also found some missing fasteners https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png

Ya know I have no problems removing the plastics on my sportbike, but for some reason, pulling the nose off my Rx really scares me. Seems so, I dunno just creepy...

I gotta get screens installed, and I want to replace the Stock running and Fog bulbs anyway so I should prolly just pull the whole thing off but it's got me kinda creeped out.

just set aside a full day with plenty of time, so you're not in a rush. make sure you have a spot to put the bumper where its not gonna get run over and stepped on. and then just do it, its not hard, if you take your time, it should go pretty quick.
