My buddy brought his 8 out to the winter retreat. He asked me if I wanted to Autocross it....... you know the answer. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png
I always hold my opinion on a cars handling ability until after I have driven it on an Autocross course. An Autocross will bring out the worst in any car. Where as a road course tends to hide handling flaws a little more. I was super impressed. The cars chassis gives a ton of feedback and while the steering was very light you could feel what she was doing. The car leaned towards oversteer more than understeer which suprised me. No really it suprised me when the rear jumped out on me turning into a turn while decelerating. I was expecting understeer and it was not there. I took 2 laps with it turning up the heat on the second run. I was amazed how well the car throttle steered. I was also suprised how easy it was to hang the ass end out and bring it back and control the oversteer. It would also easily break loose the rear tires in second gear under hard throttle. So it felt to me like it had good power. It weas not an FD or Turbo FC but it was a VERY fun car to drive. His car from this past weekend. http://events.nopistons.com/2005/alb...5018.sized.jpg |
does that mean you are getting rid of the mini?

Nice to hear your views on the RX8.....
I totally agree with your comments....this car doesn't need much compared to FC and FD RX7's for lot's of drifting fun. |
